Reading Light

Readingl ight

Designers: j-me

Designed by British design team j-me (something tells me we're going to be hearing a lot about j-me), this light encapsulates their philosophy of "design led gifts and accessories for the home". Like most of their designs, it's simple, clever, and functional.

Ok, so it's not the latest in digital luminescence technology, but it's still iconic, still very very cool, and it's finally for sale. I first saw one of these in a cafe in Copenhagen and looked for another one for years. Here it is.

SquareOut Light

Designer: So Takahashi
squareoutlight.jpg

Designed by young New York designer So Takahashi, (whose floor lamp Pisa is also available at GNR8), and inspired by Japanese photographer Hiroshi Sugimoto, this light is reminiscent of a sun rising from the horizon. The light shines around the black inner rectangle, leaving only the outer transparent rectangle glowing in color.
